NEW THIS WEEK · FIELD NOTES
A three-person team physically opens, examines, and signs off on every shoe that leaves our Beaverton facility. No algorithm short-cuts a $300 decision for you — a specialist does.
CHAPTER 01 · WHY THIS PAGE EXISTS
Counterfeit adidas has quietly become a craft industry of its own. Factories in three countries now replicate Boost pellets, heel-stitch cadence, and size-tag typography with tolerances a phone camera cannot resolve. Machine-learning checks catch the obvious — wrong SKU, swapped box, mismatched UPC — and miss the rest.
Adidas Center was founded in 2014 in Portland by two ex-footwear buyers who watched the same problem arrive in their returns pile at Foot Locker and Finish Line. The answer they shipped: a 47-person team of in-house authenticators, many of them ex-adidas QA specialists who used to walk the same lines in Vietnam and Indonesia, now applying that same inspection rigor to the secondary market out of an 8-minute drive from adidas America HQ.
This page is the public, written-in-plain-English version of what we do to every pair before it goes in a box. No badge you have to take on faith — a procedure you can read.
CHAPTER 02 · THE THREE-STEP PROCESS
Each pair spends an average of 18 minutes under inspection. Pairs that fail any stage are pulled, photographed for our counterfeit archive, and never returned to a seller without documentation.
STAGE ONE
The pair arrives in our 60,000 sqft Beaverton facility with a seller submission form. We weigh the box, check the label date against the production run, and verify the SKU against three independent sneaker databases — including the adidas Confirmed archive we gained partner access to in 2021. Pairs from sellers with under 50 completed sales, or with a flagged return history, are routed to a Senior Authenticator on sight.
STAGE TWO
Two authenticators examine the shoe together under color-corrected 5400K lamps. They measure the heel-stack height, count stitches per inch on the toe-ape and quarter panels, inspect the Boost pellet density against a reference slice, and check the insole stitching termination — a detail counterfeiters consistently miscount by one. They mark up a printed photo of the shoe with any anomalies and initial each panel.
STAGE THREE
A third authenticator — always a Senior with at least three years on the team — opens the binder, reviews the panel notes, re-inspects the flagged zones, and either signs the work order or rejects it. Only after that signature does the shipping label print. The signed work order is filed against the order number and becomes your receipt: if a buyer ever disputes authenticity, the order can be traced back to the three humans who signed.

CHAPTER 03 · THE TEAM BEHIND THE STAMP
Our authentication desk is not a contractor pool. Of the 47 specialists on the team, 22 joined us from adidas direct QA roles — they walked the same factory floors in Ho Chi Minh and Surabaya that produced the pairs they now authenticate. The remaining 25 were trained on our floor over a 90-day apprenticeship under those ex-adidas staff.
The 14-person Drops Squad is a subdivision that pre-clear new releases within 48 hours of receipt from adidas Confirmed, which is how 14% of our monthly inventory stays exclusive.

CHAPTER 04 · THE DETAILS A COUNTERFEITER HOPES YOU NEVER LOOK AT
Four plates from the inspection bench. Every pair that fails Stage Two leaves behind a photograph like one of these.
A pair you buy from us has been opened, examined, and signed off by three people. The whole procedure lives behind every order number we ship.
